More than 75 percent believe that 2022 will be a better year than 2021

Despite alarms that the new covid variant omicron is now spreading around the world, a majority still seems to believe that 2022 will be a better year than 2021.

In any case, a survey by the market research company Ipsos shows. They asked 22,000 people in 33 countries what they think 2022 will be like.

77 percent answered that they think this year will be better than last. In China, they were most positive, with 94 percent stating that they believed in a better year.

In Japan, optimism was lower and only 54 percent believed in a better year.
