The Slovak parliament has rejected a plan to impose further limits on women’s freedom to choose abortion.
The measure was introduced by Anna Zaborska, a member of Parliament from the populist political organization Ordinary People and Independent Personalities, who was elected in 2014. (OLaNo).
It included, among other things, greater disclosure requirements on the cause for the abortion, the demand for an obligatory second medical statement, and increased financial assistance for individuals who opt to carry the pregnancy to term.
